Genealogy
"The smallest clue may yield great results"
Genealogy is a popular hobby involving the search for information about one's ancestry. Who were our ancestors, when and where did they live, and who are their descendants? It is a hobby that can involve a tremendous amount of detailed research. There is a lot of sharing of information between genealogists with interests in the same families, and the Internet has become a very valuable tool for those who are searching for information about their families. On this web site, I will attempt to share with other genealogists, or family historians, the results of my own family research, in hopes that my efforts will be of some assistance to them, and also as a means of locating other researchers with an interest in the families I am researching.
In 1986, I published a book about my father's family, entitled LANDWEHR and Allied Families. I'm now in the process of making that book available on-line. If you would like to view partial contents of that book, take a look at LANDWEHR and Allied Families.
In July of 2008, I published a book about the Moses Couch family. You can view that book on-line, in its entirety, at The Moses Couch Family.
From time to time, I post various types of genealogical reports about various family lines. They can be viewed at Genealogy Reports.
Some of the biographical sketches and reports that I've written about the families of some of my relatives are provided at Biographical Sketches and Research Notes.
Eventually, I hope to publish a book about my Hall family. I've just begun organizing data for this book. When and if I find time to write this book, I will plan to post my drafts to the web site at William and Mary (Reed) Hall.
I've collected a number of old family photos over the years. If you'd like to browse through them, take a look at my Family Photo Album.
With the growth of DNA testing, individuals who are deemed to have common ancestry often want to compare their pedigree charts, looking for the common link between their families. To assist those who are matched to me through DNA testing, a list of all those individuals whom I can currently identify as my direct ancestors is provided by a Direct Ancestor Listing.
